Anger Management
We all get angry at some time, it’s a normal reaction to events when we feel we are out of control. A degree of anger is part of our natural survival kit, increasing adrenaline, noradrenaline, heart rate, blood pressure and hormone levels. Those who can benefit from anger management are the ones who become highly irritated and frustrated at events that others just brush aside.

Anger is often fuelled by a sense of injustice when we feel our views are not being respected or taken into consideration. The problem comes when we perceive events out of all proportion in relation to the way others view them.

The root of these problems like many disorders can often be traced back to childhood when we feel we were bullied or unfairly treated particularly in relationship to our syblings. The effects of anger tend to be taken out on a partner, an innocent third party or even an object - such as punching a wall or even self-harm. Suppression of anger may lead to more frustation which can explode in an even greater and more potentially dangerous bout later.

Releasing anger can be a pleasurable experience, creating a sense of power. Suppressing anger can lead to feelings of frustration and even shame on refllection. Anger is something that we all need to monitor and control.
