This will be in a bright modern setting with German born Margot O'Donoghue Bsc, MA, educated in Essen, Middlesex University and CIFA in the Lacanian tradition, often thought of as the deepest and most challenging of psychological schools. Margot has lived in North London for most of her adult life. Her experience includes counselling life prisoners in Holloway Prison and her clients today often come from highly pressured postions in the City and the media.
Panic attacks are not experienced by every anxiety sufferer but they are a common symptom, usually come without warning.
Although the fear is generally irrational, the perceived danger is very real. A person experiencing a panic attack will often feel as if he or she is about to die or pass out.
Emotional symptoms of anxiety include a fear or the need to avoid certain stressful situations or social situations due to fear of embarrassment. There may be considerable confusion and irritability when the anxiety is taking place.

Those suffering from anxiety attacks can show a lack of interest in what was once important to them, they can withdraw from society, lacking confidence, often becoming depressed along with an inability to concentrate.
While clients often recognise their state of anxiety, they are usually unclear as to its cause. This is where a professional can assist in helping to guide the client through their personal history and get to the route of their anxiety, which in many case can be founded on long held beliefs, often going back as far as early childhood.
