This can either be in a bright modern setting in North London or in the West End of London with German born Margot O'Donoghue Bsc, MA, educated in Essen, Middlesex University and CFAR trained in the Lacanian tradition, often thought of as the deepest and most challenging of psychological schools. Margot has lived in North London for most of her adult life. Her experience includes counselling life prisoners in Holloway Prison as well as assisting victims of Nazi death camps. Her clients today often come from highly pressured postions in the City and the media.

For most of us falling in love is a reality of life, an exciting and anxious experience, accompanied by many fantasies.
Especially in the first weeks and months it can affect us greatly: loss of appetite and nervous impatience on the one hand, rushes of adrenaline fuelled energy and the magic of a fresh start on the other. Some crave it, others have difficulty allowing themselves to fall in love in case it turns life upside down. Either way love poses many questions. Will the object of our desire live up to expectations and will we live up to theirs? What sort of life is instore for us with our new found love? All this can make us feel very vulnerable but it is entirely normal, it's what falling in love is all about.
Romantic or sexual obsession however occurs when unrealistic fantasies have taken over. It is quite often focused on an unavailable or impossible object of desire, which either fails entirely to respond or finds it impossible to supply the quantity or quality of love demanded. This may be because they are entirely unaware or because the fantasies, expectations or real life situations are too unrealistic to make the transition to a satisfying long-term relationship.
